Every year, countless volunteers provide thousands of hours of support in the form of cleaning and repairs, meal preparation, office support, tutoring and mentoring. Children’s Community School could not afford to pay for the invaluable services provided by these generous individuals, and we are truly grateful.


If you are interested in any of the following volunteer opportunities, please contact us right away.

Classroom Volunteers
Work with the classroom teacher and students to enhance the education of the children. Opportunities are availablein pre-K through grade 5. Classes are held from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm daily except for the first Friday of each month, when classes stop at 1:00 pm.

Volunteer Tutors
Works one-on-one with a student chosen by his or her teacher as needing supplemental instruction. This can be a one-time or continuous engagement.
Volunteer Mentors
We credit our Mentoring Program with providing the crucial support that enables our graduates to complete high school on time. Work one-on-one with a current 5th grader or a CCS graduate now in middle school. Mentors assist students with schoolwork and provide them with support and friendship. Mentors usually work with a student one afternoon a week (Tuesdays or Wednesdays) from 3:30 to 4:30 pm.
Library Volunteers
Work with the school librarian and students during their scheduled library times. Guest readers during library time are especially popular!
Office Volunteers
Assist the office team with mailings and other clerical work. The office is open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
Maintenance Volunteers
Help with building repairs and general maintenance. These activities take place primarily during school breaks but are appreciated at any time.
Kitchen Volunteers
Assist our on-site chef with preparing breakfast, lunch, and mid-morning snack.
